Early Release on Friday, December 12

The district's next Early Release Friday is scheduled for Friday, December 12.  The 4 Year old FREE preschool program with Mrs. Care, Miss Ritsema, and Mrs. Warner will release at 12:00 p.m.  PK-5th grade students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.  The Full Day preschool classrooms with childcare will remain open for their regular hours, 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.  

If your child normally uses after school care on Friday afternoons, your child is automatically enrolled to attend care on all Early Release Fridays, unless other arrangements have been made.

Upcoming Open/Closed Dates

Please review our upcoming open/closed dates below: 

  • Monday-Friday, December 22-26: All programs CLOSED for the holiday break.  Note: there are no tuition charges for the full day preschool and before/after school care program for this week.
  • Monday, December 29: ECC open for Full Day Preschool Program (tuition-based only) and PK-5th grade Before/After School Program.  Care will be held at the Early Childhood Center from 7:45 a.m.-5:00 p.m.  All other programs are closed.
  • Tuesday, December 30: ECC open for Full Day Preschool Program (tuition-based only) and PK-5th grade Before/After School Program.  Care will be held at the Early Childhood Center from 7:45 a.m.-5:00 p.m.  All other programs are closed.
  • Wednesday-Thursday, December 31-January 1: All programs CLOSED.
  • Friday, January 2: ECC open for Full Day Preschool Program (tuition-based only) and PK-5th grade Before/After School Program.  Care will be held at the Early Childhood Center from 7:45 a.m.-5:00 p.m.  All other programs are closed.

Please note: All students must bring a cold lunch from home; no hot lunch is offered on non-school days. 

Important policy change for Before/After School Care students: Starting this year, if your child is signed up for childcare on Non-School Days (October 31, December Break, Mid-Winter Break, Spring Break), your account will be charged the daily rate whether your child(ren) are in attendance or not as we have intentionally created a staffing plan to account for these students. 

There is a $55.00 charge for the before/after school students to attend on a non-school day, and your account will be charged the difference of $55.00 and your normal daily rate. 

Vacation Credit

Each full day preschool and/or PK-5th grade before/after school care family is able to utilize a one week vacation credit throughout the school year when childcare is not utilized in a one week timeframe, Monday - Friday.

If you would like to utilize your one week vacation for the week of December 29-January 2, please submit your request to [email protected].  Please note that the scheduling survey you completed regarding attendance during the holiday break is not used to issue vacation credits.  A request must be made to the ECC office.

Donations to ECC

If you are cleaning out your kids' drawers and are looking for a place to donate, please consider donating to the ECC.  We are currently in need of boys' and girls' pants, sizes 3T-8.  Thank you!
