Meet the Nurses

I am thrilled to be one of the school nurses for the Hudsonville School District. I have been a Registered Nurse for ‘twenty-something’ years and I have been part of the Corewell Health School Health Program for 5 years. I began as a resource nurse in the School Health program which allowed me to work in numerous school districts across West Michigan (our program provides nursing services to 27 districts across the region). In 2020, I began working for Hudsonville Schools as a substitute nurse and quickly became endeared to this District in particular because of the wonderful staff, students, and families. It is a privilege to assist the district in promoting the health, wellness, and safety of our students in the school setting.

Outside of work, you will most likely find me in a gym or on the sidelines watching my kids play school and club sports (basketball/volleyball for my daughter and basketball/soccer for my son). Pickleball is my favorite hobby- I have been playing for several years and I am officially hooked. I also like golfing, traveling, trail running, and listening to audio books since I spend a lot of time driving.

I am excited to be a nurse for the Hudsonville School District! I have worked in health care for about 5 years and have been a nurse for almost 2 years at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. I have always dreamed of being a school nurse, and I am thrilled to be joining this district. One thing I love about school nursing is meeting students in their day-to-day environment and helping to keep them in school. I am thrilled to be a resource in promoting the health and well being of the students, staff, and families.

I have always lived in the West Michigan area. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we recently got a bernedoodle puppy, Annie. Outside of school, you can find me hiking, walking Annie, traveling, or spending time with friends and family.
