School Health Program
Hudsonville Public Schools strives to promote and maintain a healthy environment for all our students, staff, parents and community members who visit our buildings.
In partnership with the Spectrum Health School Health Program, our District employs a full time Registered Nurse, Kristen Goodyke RN BSN, to provide health services for our district.
Kristen Goodyke, RN BSN
I am thrilled to be the full-time nurse for the Hudsonville School District. I have been a Registered Nurse for ‘twenty-something’ years and I have been part of the Spectrum Health School Health Program for 5 years. I began as a resource nurse in the School Health program which allowed me to work in numerous school districts across West Michigan (our program provides nursing services to 27 districts across the region). In 2020, I began working for Hudsonville Schools as a substitute nurse and quickly became endeared to this District in particular because of the wonderful staff, students, and families. My favorite thing about school nursing is the high level of interaction with students, parents, and staff and that every day is different. It is a privilege to assist the district in promoting the health, wellness, and safety of our students in the school setting.
Outside of work, you will most likely find me in a gym or on the sidelines watching my kids play school and club sports (basketball/volleyball for my daughter and basketball/soccer for my son). Pickleball is my favorite hobby- I have been playing for several years and I am officially hooked. I also like golfing, traveling, trail running, and listening to audio books since I spend a lot of time driving.
