Barbara Hooper

I have lived in Hudsonville for almost 13 years. I was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board in September 2018. I view the work of the Board to be very collaborative. We work with the superintendent, administrators, teachers, students, and the community to develop a vision and goals for the district that are responsive to the values, beliefs, and priorities of our community while advocating for the needs of our district. My priorities are to continue to advocate for the needs of our students and to prepare them for the future to ensure that they are well prepared for their next steps after high school whether that be the military, college, trade school, or direct entry into the workforce. I am looking forward to being actively involved in the SOAR IV Strategic Planning process that has recently begun.
