HHS Green Team Presents "Chasing Coral"

April 20

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Hudsonville High School Main Campus Auditorium

Will you help save the coral reefs?

This upcoming Earth week, Hudsonville High School's very own Green Team has planned a free event for the community. On April 20th at 7:00 pm in the high school's main campus auditorium, they will be screening the documentary Chasing Coral for all earth enthusiasts!

The movie follows a team of divers and other scientists on their mission to document the devastating effects the human carbon-footprint has on the creatures that live in the ocean- specifically the coral reefs.  These beautiful ecosystems are essential to all that live on this planet, even humans. They support a quarter of all ocean life, which is a main food source for millions of people. Unfortunately, the reefs are at risk of extinction because of the increasing atmospheric temperatures caused by burning fossil fuels.  Half of the corals in the Great Barrier Reef have already been lost, and they will only continue to perish if people do not do anything about the issue.

Team members implore everyone to take the first step by coming to the screening in order to learn more about this problem and to discover ways we all can help.  Show your planet a little love this Earth Week and protect it! By thinking globally, act locally to make a difference in the community and the world. Hope to see you there!
